Section 2 - Decks and Decklist problems - how to fix the problem?

Chose the Best Answer

Now let's see how the following problems might best be fixed. The situation is a tournament where decklists are used. Rules Level Enforcement is 1 or 2.

1. Don has an all white deck, the only land being used are plains. He is playing with 4 White Knights in the main deck. His decklist shows "4 Black Knights". After he is given a game loss- how should his deck or decklist be changed?

a) Require Don to find 4 Black Knights and put them in his deck instead of the 4 White Knights
b) Change the decklist to say "4 white knights"
c) Let Don put some swamps in his main deck (and fix his decklist accordingly).
d) Require Don to remove the 4 White Knights and have him add as many plains as would be needed to bring his deck to 60 cards (and fix his decklist accordingly).
d) Let Don choose a), b), c) or d)

2. Don's decklist and his deck both have 59 cards. After giving him a game loss, how should his deck or decklist be changed?

a) Let Don pick any one legal card to add to both his deck and his decklist
b) Let the judge select any one legal card to add to both deck and decklist
c) Let Don add one basic land to both his deck and his decklist
d) Let the player select as many cards as he wants to add to both deck and decklist as long as he ends up with a legal deck.
e) Add a "non-playable" card to both deck and decklist (ex. A red spell to a black deck)

3. Don's Type 2 deck is found to be legal in all ways except that it contains 4 lightning bolts (deck and decklist both show 4 lightning bolts), after giving a game loss, how should his deck or decklist be changed?

a) Don can pick any 4 cards from his sideboard to add to his deck (and then the sideboard is removed from the game).
b) Don can select any 4 legal cards to substitute for the bolts in both deck and decklist.
c) The judge should choose any 4 legal cards to substitute for the bolts
d) The judge should find comparable type 2 cards, ex. 4 Shocks
e) The judge should instruct Don to add 4 basic lands for the bolts

4. John is playing in a local tournament (REL 1) that requires decklists. He has recorded a legal deck, but only has 14 cards written down for his sideboard. What happens?

a) He is given a warning and is allowed to add a card of his choice to his sideboard list (and to his sideboard). He may use his sideboard in the next match.
b) He is given a warning and is allowed to add a basic land to his sideboard list (and to his sideboard). ). He may use his sideboard in the next match.
c) He is given a game loss and is allowed to add a card of his choice to his sideboard list (and to his sideboard). ). He may use his sideboard in the next match

a) He is given a warning and is allowed to remove a card of his choice from his sideboard list (and his sideboard). ). He may use his sideboard in the next match
b) He is given a warning and is required to remove one card at random from his sideboard list (and then remove that card from his sideboard). ). He may use his sideboard in the next match

e) He is given a game loss. He is not permitted to use his sideboard for the remainder of the tournament.

6. Ingo has listed 4 Worships on his sideboard list. He is actually playing with 4 Parallax Waves in his sideboard (he made a change and forgot to change his decklist). The rest of his sideboard is legal. He is unable to borrow or buy the 4 Worships he needs to add to make his sideboard legal. What happens?

a) If Ingo cannot find the 4 Worships, he will be disqualified from the tournament.
b) He can use four basic lands instead of the Worships and still be allowed to play with his sideboard.
c) Since playing with a smaller sideboard is a disadvantage, he will be allowed to continue to play with his sideboard at 11 cards.
d) He may elect not to use his sideboard for the remainder of the tournament
