Page 2: Brutal Suppression · Shield Dancer
Brutal Suppression R Enchantment.
Activated abilities on Rebel cards cost an additional "Sacrifice a land" to play.
Q.1:Is this effect cumulative?
  1. Yes
  2. No      check answer
Shield Dancer 2W Creature - Rebel 1/3 2W: The next time target attacking creature would deal combat damage to Shield Dancer this turn, that creature deals that damage to itself instead.
Q2. If a 4/4 creature with trample is blocked by the Shield Dancer, can the Shield Dancer's ability kill it?
  1. Yes. Even though one point of the damage will trample through, the 4 points of damage is first assigned to Shield Dancer thus triggering its ability.
  2. Yes. Blockers that have special abilities that trigger from the assignment of damage, also have the ability to absorb all trample damage.
  3. Only if the attacking player decides to assign all 4 damage to Shield Dancer. However, only 3 points have to be assigned, the other point can trample through.
  4. No. You are not allowed to assign more points of damage to a creature than its toughness, so only 3 points could be assigned to Shield Dancer.      check answer

ANSWERS

1) (a) Yes. You must sacrifice a land each time a rebel ability is used

2)(c) Only if the attacking player decides to assign all 4 damage to Shield Dancer. However, only 3 points have to be assigned, the other point can trample through (thus only allowing Shield Dancer to redirect 3 points). It has been pointed out to me that in this specific case the creature will die anyway, because the creature will take 3 points from Shield Dancer's redirection ability and one more point from Shield Dancer's own combat damage. Death however is the result of combined damage.
