Format: MLB Constructed. Modified Swiss rounds - number of rounds based on attendance, then cut to a top 4 and run single-elimination until there is one winner. Rounds will be 1 game matches with 60 minute time limits. All banned/restricted cards are posted on www.wizards.com/showdown.
Tournaments will be run according to 2002–2003 DCI™ Universal Tournament Rules, DCI Penalty Guidelines, and all DCI rules pertaining to MLB Showdown Constructed tournament rules, including all updates announced and in force as of the September 1, 2003 rules update. Teams will have a 5,000 point cap. Decklists will be used (blank decklists will be available at the event)

Showdown National Championship held
Each Regional Champion wins an MLB Showdown Rewards Package.
The MLB Showdown Rewards Package includes a round-trip, coach airfare for the winner and a guest from the major airport nearest the winner’s home to Cleveland, Ohio to attend the MLB Showdown National Championship held on October 5, 2003, and double occupancy accommodations at a hotel chosen by Wizards of the Coast, Inc.
Each 2nd place finisher receives tickets to a home game for the MLB team in their region.
The Top 4 players win 36 boosters of the most recent MLB Showdown 2003 expansion.

ELIGIBILITY: Players already holding an invitation to the MLB Showdown National Championship on the date of a Regional may still play in that Regional; however, any additional invitations won will not pass down. Players who have already won an MLB Showdown Rewards Package for a first-place finish at a previous Regional may not participate in further Regional Championships.
